The Organization
The Uganda National Academy of Sciences (UNAS) is an independent, honorific, service-oriented organization that provides evidence-informed advice to the government and nation on matters of science, technology, innovation, and development.
UNAS invites suitably qualified and experienced Audit Firms to submit Expressions of Interest for the provision of External Audit Services for the Financial Years 2025/2026.
Scope of Work
The selected Audit Firm will be required to:
- Conduct an independent audit of the financial statements of UNAS for the Financial Year 2025/2026;
- Assess compliance with applicable financial regulations, accounting standards, and donor requirements;
- Review internal control systems and identify any weaknesses;
- Provide a Management Letter highlighting audit findings and recommendations;
- Express an independent audit opinion on the financial statements.
Eligibility Requirements
Interested firms should provide:
- Company profile and certificate of incorporation;
- Valid practicing license issued by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU);
- Evidence of registration with relevant regulatory bodies;
- At least five (5) years’ experience in external auditing;
- Proven experience auditing NGOs, public institutions, or research/scientific organizations;
- CVs of key personnel proposed for the assignment;
- At least three (3) reference letters or contracts from similar assignments undertaken.

Interested firms should submit:
- Technical Proposal detailing understanding of the assignment and methodology;
- Financial Proposal indicating professional fees and related costs;
- Copies of relevant registration and compliance documents.
